Igal aastal tähistatakse 9. mail Euroopa päevaga rahu ja ühtsust Euroopas. Mis oleks parem viis selle päeva veetmiseks, kui arutada meie praeguse olukorra ja tulevikuplaanide üle Euroopas?
Tartu on koos Lõuna-Eestiga 2024. aasta Euroopa kultuuripealinn, mis annab meile võimaluse edendada ellujäämise kunste ja võtta initsiatiiv, et meie elu koos paremaks muuta. Euroopa päeva raames paneme pead kokku Läti ekspertidega, et arutada kliimakriisi ja linnaelu teemadel, jagada linnade vahel praktikaid, tõsta teadlikkust ning luua arusaama sellest, mis innustab inimesi ja organisatsioone sellesse panustama.
Millest me räägime? Jagame hüperlokaalse arutelu vormis vaatenurki ja kogemusi, et vastata küsimusele “Kuidas linnas kliimakriisiga toime tulla?”
Hüperlokaalse arutelu jätkuks toimub Tartu 2024 Extended noorteprogrammi poolt loodud kunstiline programm, mis on samuti inspireeritud loodusest, kliimast ja Ellujäämise Kunstidest. Õhtu jooksul loevad noored luuletajad kliimast innustunud luuletusi ning muusikud loodusest kantud DJ-biite. Õhtu lõpetab minikontsert.
Euroopa päeva arutelu on Hybrid European Democracy Festivali pilootüritus. 2024. aastal toimub Tartu 2024 Euroopa Kultuuripealinna ametliku programmi raames üle Euroopa hübriidarvamusfestival, mille arutelualad asuvad erinevates ülikoolilinnades üle Euroopa ja erinevate riikide osalejate ühendamiseks kasutatakse digitaalseid lahendusi.

ARUTELU TOIMUB INGLISE KEELES
Join us for an extraordinary hyperlocal discussion and be part of the conversation on how to tackle the climate crisis in cities!
Every year on May 9th, Europe Day celebrates peace and unity in Europe. What better way to spend the day than by discussing our current situation and future plans in Europe?
Tartu, together with Southern Estonia, will be the European Capital of Culture in 2024, giving us the opportunity to promote the arts of survival and take the initiative to make our lives better. As part of Europe Day, we will join Latvian experts to discuss the topics of the climate crisis and urban life, share best practices between cities, raise awareness, and create an understanding of what motivates people and organizations to contribute to this cause.
What will we discuss? We will open the topic in the form of hyperlocal discussion, share perspectives and experiences to answer the question “How to tackle the climate crisis in cities?”
After the hyperlocal discussion, everybody can enjoy an art show organised by the Tartu 2024 Extended youth program. The artworks will be inspired by nature, climate, and the Arts of Survival. There will be young poets sharing their climate-inspired poems and musicians playing beats inspired by nature. The show will wrap up with a mini-concert.
The Europe Day discussion is a pilot event for the Hybrid European Democracy Festival. In 2024, as part of the official program of Tartu 2024 European Capital of Culture, a Hybrid European Democracy Festival will take place across Europe, with discussion areas located in different university cities across Europe, and the connection between participants from different countries will be created using digital solutions.
