Fernando Lyra is a multi-instrumentalist from Lisbon, Portugal, today based in Heidelberg, Germany. He learned saxophone and clarinet through his own travels and his graduation in Musicology which gave him access to different expressions of worldwide sonorities. Fernando has performed on various stages across Europe including Tallinn Music Week and Jazzkaar. He’s also focalised in different workshops and masterclasses on different instruments: the didgeridoo, pandeiro, handpan, overtone singing and indian rhythmic language.
Fernando learned and developed techniques in various percussion and woodwind musical instruments: the handpan, kaval, ney, darbouka, def, pandeiro, jaw harps, asalato, cajon, hulusi among others.
For this concert Fernando brings his solo handpan program that is registered in 4 different EP’s: Boreal Summer,Travels in the Now, Emajamaa Duo and Nirvana Gym.
