The Society of International Relations (RSR) invites everyone to a public lecture on the European Union’s new social media’s privacy policy. How are these implemented and what are their impacts on today’s internet-driven societies?
Our guest Jake Tom will be talking about the GDPR (General data protection regulation) and what it means in regular terms but also how it applies to businesses, sets a standard for a new business practices, and also, how different countries/companies are implementing and have violated it.
Jake Tom works in the field of cyber security and is an engineer focused on online privacy and trust. Studying PhD software engineering he is of Indian descent, born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, and is enrolled in University of Tartu.
