Vikerruum: Baltic Drag King 2023
For the first time ever the annual coronation of Baltic Drag King will take place in Tartu, Estonia thanks to the welcoming doors at Vikerruum and what a night it will be!
Kings and Quings from all three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be performing their best masculine drag but only one will claim the title of Baltic Drag King 2023.
In the event of a Drag Quing winning the night, we will be happy to continue spreading the word far and wide together that not only gender, but also drag goes well beyond the binary restrictions!
The one of a kind crown for the fifth year in a row will be provided by the excellent Crown Heads of Europe. This year the judging panel will include the Estonian drag burlesque superstar and Baltic Drag King 2020- Eeben Früülep, joined by the Latvian non binary party girl Vencheska Baltique and a very special guest judge all the way from Poland- drag king Vujo Delulu!
Expect guest performances and a cheerful yet exhilarating night hosted by the co-founder and manager of the Baltic Drag King Collective- the ever so smiley Timmy from Latvia. DJ Lévi (of House de la Cincy) will take care of your musical fulfillment up until the judges make their call and we will continue rejoicing in music throughout the night thanks to DJ They/Them after the official show is over.
In the downstairs Salón Alternativo, DJ’s Kaspu & Hyyru are back with their unapologetic set of crazy disco, cheeky house and other organic business techno dust. Enjoy without caution 💐

At Kogo Gallery, based in Tartu, Estonia is currently on view a group exhibition Drag Yourself Here by the Baltic Drag King Collective – a fluid community of drag performance artists from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The exhibition invites to experience, via drag, a glimpse into queer nightlife, gender empowerment and politics. Drag Yourself Here is curated by Mētra Saberova, Latvian queer feminist performance and moving-image artist. The show is part of Kogo Gallery’s this year’s programme Queer it Up which celebrates all that is positioned as fluid, different, unidentifiable, glitchy, marginal and uncomfortable.
Kogo Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Tartu, Estonia that focuses on the younger generation of artists. Kogo is committed to encouraging dialogue on important issues of today by running an extensive public programme alongside the exhibitions.
