Uue aasta ja semestriga on saabumas täiesti uus sats värskeid tartlasi nii siitmailt kui kaugemast kandist. 9. veebruaril teeb oma Tartu comebacki Eesti technoskeene esileedi Merimell (Brvtal Vision, Machine Nation). Merimell on nime teinud omale nime nii kodu- kui ka välismaal ning on tuntud oma ülimalt energiliste settide poolest. Samuti on ta kohalike elektroonilise muusika fännide seas tuntud ka kui Machine Nationi raadiosaate ja üritustesarja eestvedajana.

The new year and semester has come with a completely new set of faces ready to call themselves fresh residents of Tartu. For our first Black Box of 2024, we have invited Merimell. She is what you could call the first lady of Techno in Estonia. Merimell quickly made a name for herself both in her home country and abroad with her high-octane and precision sets of techno, industrial, rave and beyond. Next, she began producing her music which landed on labels such as Loco Dice’s Desolat, DJ Haus’ label Unknown to the Unknown, Ismus, Killekill and most recently, Moments In Time compilation. Like her productions, Merimell’s recent DJ sets have a driving dark industrial sound ready for any dance floor. Currently, Merimell focuses mainly on production and promoting and developing “Machine Nation” – her radio show and event series.
